Frequently Asked Questions
Below are some of our FAQs. If they do not answer what you need then please use our contact form and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
Are goggles allowed in lessons?
TTP Swim School Ltd teachers will allow swimmers to wear goggles if they are able to wear them without being distracted by having them on i.e. without constantly stopping to adjust them, take them off or empty water out of them.
Swimming goggles may make a swimmer feel comfortable during their lessons in a controlled environment, however, if they accidentally end up in water it is unlikely they will be wearing them. It is therefore vital that children are comfortable swimming with or without goggles so they don’t panic in an unexpected situation. The swimmer will be encouraged to swim without goggles at times to familiarise them with the experience.
Will the teacher be in the water with the children during the lesson?
TTP Swim School Ltd teachers use a variety of methods including teaching both in and out of the water, where the individual teacher feels it to be appropriate. For younger children the teacher will be in the water with the children offering manual support and encouragement.
