TTP Swim School Ltd teachers use a variety of methods including teaching both in and out of the water, where the individual teacher feels it to be appropriate. Please be aware that teachers in the water may offer manual support as well as verbal encouragement.
TTP Swim School Ltd offer private lesson options for all swimmers.
1.2.1. swimmers have no distractions from others in a class, therefore there is a higher possibility of accelerated achievement when they are the sole focus of the teacher. Each swimmer is different however and some swimmers thrive with individual tuition, whereas others learn and benefit from the social interaction within a group.
If you feel that your child is not making progress, please do not sit in silence as you are paying for the service we are providing. Please carefully observe the class then either speak to the poolside co-ordinator or email TTP@swimnow.uk with the name of the swimmer. Be constructive with your comments as our objectives to work in the best interest of the swimmer are the same as yours. Between us, we can discuss possible solutions to correctly address the needs of the swimmer.
Progress through the classes is dependent on ability and varies greatly from swimmer to swimmer. . If you feel that we have missed something, please speak to the poolside co-ordinator or email TTP@swimnow.uk with the name of the swimmer. Be constructive with your comments as our objectives of working in the best interest of the swimmer are the same as yours. Between us, we can discuss possible solutions to the situation.
TTP Swim School issue Swimming Teachers Association (S.T.A) awards and certificates.
We test for awards every second term.
If an award has been achieved, it will be available for collection at the end of term or on the first day of the new term. If you are unsure if your child has achieved an award, it is easier to check with the swimming co-ordinator on poolside as they should have the information to hand. Alternatively, you an email TTP@swimnow.uk.
TTP Swim School Ltd start lessons for children when they are 4 years old at the Waverley School venue.
Swimmers age 5+ can attend the St Ignatius venue.
TTP Swim School Ltd have a 1:5 teacher pupil ratio per class.
At Waverley School, we offer cygnet classes for 4 year old swimmers in the shallow area of the pool. The cygnet classes have a 1:4 pupil teacher ratio.
TTP Swim School Ltd lessons are approximately 30 mins long. Some lifesaving sessions or advance swimming sessions may last for 45 minutes or 1 hour subject to demand and availability.
Parents are required to stay on the premises for the duration of the lesson and be available to collect the swimmer at the end of the lesson.
New swimmers can make an enquiry via email or telephone and will either be offered a slot if there is one free or be placed on the waiting list to start when a suitable place becomes available.
Existing swimmers receive an email before the end of the current course offering them a slot for the following term. They are given a deadline to confirm their acceptance of the space by making a deposit to secure the place. If payment has not been received after the deadline, their place will be released for general resale. If you wish to change day, venue or time, please let us know as early as possible as we do try to accommodate changes if we are able to do so.
Yes, both venues have a car park for use.
Waverley School has a car park on site plus ample road parking in the surround area. This is a private car park but remains open to allow access for the lessons or other groups taking place at the venue so please remember to lock your vehicle and to keep valuables out of sight when your vehicle is unattended.
The car park at St Ignatius is in use for swimmers after 4pm on weekdays. Please do not arrive before 4pm as you may not be admitted onto the site. On Saturday mornings, the car park will be open from 8am. This is a private car park but remains open to allow access for the lessons or other groups taking place at the venue so please remember to lock your vehicle and to keep valuables out of sight when your vehicle is unattended.
